British tax stamp collection, 1727-1820

Parchment fragment with one stamp on blue paper affixed to the recto and one printed cypher label affixed to the verso. The blue paper square is a 1 shilling 6 pence stamp (with "I SHILLING" at both the head and foot and "VI PENCE" on the left and right), with a small piece of metal foil near the center. The cypher label has the monogram of George II and the number "55" in the upper right corner.
