Below compass is printed: 'The Union shall exist as long as the Compass / points to the North.' To the left of compass, printed vertically: 'Magee, 316 Chestnut St. Phila.'
About the Creator: Magee was likely James Magee, a seller of stationery and envelopes at 316 Chestnut Street, and living at 750 Florida Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the American Civil War.
