Report of the Board of Trustees BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING, 1939 ing his World's Fair booklet, New York Past and Present, 1524- x939> complimentary copies of which were sent to the members of the Society. The Quarterly Bulletin records most of the accessions of the year, as well as the activities of the Society, so that only a general summary is called for in the annual report. The report of the Treasurer shows the continued careful management of the funds of the Society, and the maintenance of our old policy of keeping a balanced budget by living within our income. There is always more to be accomplished, and a larger staff is necessary if we desire to render still greater service. The funds of the Society were increased by the bequests of Cornelia Livingston Pell, $1,500; Edwin W. Orvis, $2,000; and the final settlement of $9.70 from the Edward Bement estate. Other ~ 13 ~
