Varina Banks Howell Davis (May 7, 1826 - October 16, 1906) was the wife of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America. She was a supporter of the women's suffrage movement. Henry Alexander Wise (December 3, 1806 - September 12, 1876) was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia's 8th congressional district, the 6th U.S. Minister to Brazil, and the 33rd Governor of Virginia directly preceeding the American Civil War.
