First line: Good people all both great and small. Text in two columns, separated by a single rule. "Full eight long years I served there, my country to defend; now I’m forsook, my nature broke, may each one be my friend. In Canada with Montgom’ry, where many men did die; the smallpox there I had a share, and lost my precious eye."--stanzas 4 and 5. General Richard Montgomery led the Continental Army against Montreal in 1775. He served in an earlier campaign against Montreal in 1759 during the French and Indian War.
