Manuscript copy of four documents on one sheet in the hand of Lysander Spooner. On recto, a manuscript copy of judicial records from the State of New York Supreme Court case between Gerrit Smith and Royal Phelps dated April 17, 1860, stating that the case be "set aside, on the ground that this Court has no jurisdiction of the said action." Followed by three letters dated April 17 through April 24, 1860 between Lysander Spooner and Chas. [Charles] D. Miller, discussing the Court's decision.
