On front, letter to Mr. John Anderson of Bristol regarding international slave trade, market prices of 'young & likely' Negros, and clothing for slaves being shipped. Includes mention of Brig Alert and Ship Hector, carrying slaves from the Coast of Africa to Barbados. Letter signed 'F. H. V E', Charleston [South Carolina]. On verso, letter dated May 8, 1784 to Messrs. Lycott and Maxwell of Barbados regarding communication between Captain William Lewellin of the Ship Hector and Mr. John Anderson of Bristol on January 20, 1784. Signed 'S. Ca' [Charleston, South Carolina]. Also on verso, letter fragment signed 'F. H. V E.'
