[Page 87] Thursday, Sept. 26. Took Breckfast at Capt. Booth's; the Cattel was got on Board, we Came to Sail about 12 o Clock, waited awhile at the Gulch [?] for ye tide. We had a good Brease at Southwest. Got to Saybrook, Sun aBout 1/2 hour high. My Capt. was glad to See me & had a good many Welcomes from others. Fryday 27th. Took Breckfast on board of Capt. Hooper's Sloop, it is Reported the ministeral army is Imbarking at York. The Day wore away in a mollencoly manner. This eving my wife & Children Came into Saybrook, with Some of our affects to my grait joy. Providence has Smiled upon me at this time. Lodged in the vessel that Night. Saturday 28th. Paid the Capt. of ye vessel his Demand which 3 Dollars made a Rite. The Committee to be Brought to Norwich Landin upon the publick Expense. With much Difficulty had it granted. Sunday, 29th. Put my goods on board of Peter Griffing's boat. Left Saybrook at Three o Clock, got to New London in 2 Houres, put up at Mr. Ellets at th
