Two-page letter to Captain Nicholas Power of Providence, Rhode Island, denying a request for insurance against 'the mortality of slaves' and 'Barbary Cruisers' [probably Barbary corsairs] for an upcoming voyage. Power is encouraged to request insurance for his Brig 'against the Danger of the Sea [and] the Insurrection of Slaves.' Includes discussion of London Premiums for Coast to Market voyages. Letter signed 'S. S.'
