- Birth certificate of Horace, born in April 1808, and Bet, born in January 1810, to a 'Negro Woman Slave named Tamer' belonging to New York City merchant James Forrest. Includes note stating that 'the said Tamer absented herself from my Service in the Month of May 1808 and did not return until the Month of November last past.'
- Birth certificate of Ann, born November 15 1803 [?], to a slave belonging to John Rutherford of New York City. Document damage at right hand side with text missing. Birth year is inferred from the date of the certificate, June 7, 1804. The date of July 4, 1799, also appears in the document but probably relates to when the birth mother entered into John Rutherford's service.
