: [Manuscript copy of a letter from Wendell Phillips, Francis Jackson, and Lysander Spooner to Charles D. Cleveland]; Manuscript copy in Lysander Spooner's hand of a four-page letter dated February 11, 1854, from Lysander Spooner, Wendell Phillips, and Francis Jackson to Charles D. Cleveland, responding to a letter that Cleveland had sent to the Commonwealth to be published. In it, they suggest that Cleveland had written the letter to dissuade others from donating money to support the cause of Captain Daniel Drayton. At end, an additional note by Richard Hildreth agreeing with the sentiments of Spooner, et al.

Aldrich to Lysander Spooner [of Boston, Massachusetts], asking for his legal opinions on case Ogden vs. Saunders and offering his observations on the "[] and the disposition of the Southern people."

: [Manuscript draft of a letter from Lysander Spooner to Gerrit Smith]; Manuscript draft of a four-page letter from Lysander Spooner in Athol [Massachusetts] to Gerrit Smith in Peterboro, New York, dated July 24, 1848, in which Spooner discusses his inability to raise funds for himself and explains reasons why the public should provide him assistance.

: Inventory and appraisement of the Estate of Homer Virgil Milton deceased; Four-page inventory of Homer Virgil Milton [probably of Jefferson County, Georgia]. Includes names and estimated value of aprroximately 32 slaves, among other household goods. Signed on last page by appraisers Samuel Clements, Robert Lowry, Tom Rim [?], and "Mark T." Made official and signed by Sherrod Arrington.

Braburn, Esq.]; Manuscript copy in Lysander Spooner's hand of a four-page letter dated April 12, 1845, from Thomas Earle in Philadelphia [Pennsylvania] to G. [George] Bradburn, in which he gives lengthy critique of Lysander Spooner's book [probably The Unconstitutionality of Slavery] and the abolitionist movement in general.

: [Letter from Gerrit Smith to Lysander Spooner]; Four-page letter from Gerrit Smith of Peterboro [New York] to Lysander Spooner in Athol, Massachusetts, dated April 27, 1847, responding to Spooner's request for funds to support him during a visit to Boston as he writes his newest book. Includes list of names from whom Smith has collected funds, including S. E. Sewall, E. G. Loring, and H. B. Stanton.

: Affidavit of Nathan H. Gartin; Two-page affidavit allowing Nathan H. Gartin to seek and arrest the slave Jack in Marion County, Kentucky.

: Daniel Trougeon to John Duncan; Receipt for wages paid to Daniel Trougeon [Trudgeon] by Captain John Duncan of the Brig Othello. Includes deduction from wages for 10 gallons rum "taken up from 5 July to Feb'y 19th." On back, note dated March 21, 1771 verifying receipt of payment signed by Boyle Vandeleure of Barbados.

On top, a contract signed by Dudley Saltonstall promising to "carry to North American for sale" a "negroe girl named Mimba." On bottom, a reciept for the sale of the slave Mimba dated June 4, 1763. On back, verification of sums received by Dudley Saltonstall. Signed by John Joy of New London [Connecticut] and dated October 13, 1763.
